The perfect watermelon
One of my coworkers picked a great watermelon and he decideded to share his tactic. he says the bigger the spot where the vine grew the better the watermelon. Hmmm. I decided to explre this a little further and found the following tips to picking a watermelon. They don't ripen after beeing pick so make your choice count!
-symmetrical in size
-yellow or white spot where it was in contact with the vine -light green=unripe
-THUMP test- just so go ahead and thump aparently a hollow sound is good
-scratch the surface- a greenish white color beneath the rind=ripe
-little contrast between the stripes
Although the end seems to be the best indicator the only thing i found is to look at the collow white- yellow.
